In these tough economic times when local business is failing at an alarming rate and people are continuing to lose their jobs and their homes, the city is pondering a decision to cancel the annual Fourth of July Fireworks extravaganza held at the Horse Park.

Although we love the patriotic feeling that comes with this celebration, we love even more the fact the city won't be shelling out good tax money to support this added pleasure we enjoy.

If this helps save us from another millage increase, we support the city for now eliminating our Fourth of July fireworks.
