We support the fact that the Georgia House has voted to allow the charter school issue be placed on the November ballot. This will allow the people of Georgia to make the decision whether state created charter schools should be a viable alternative to some public schools.
This referendum now needs to be passed by the Senate. The Republicans cannot muster the majority to insure this happens so it will be up to some Democrats to use good common sense and not be bullied by school unions and school boards to note no.
In our opinion it is usually the best thing to allow the people to vote and make their own decision on their future.
The voters of Georgia deserve to have the chance to vote yes or no for this measure.
