To say that the Rockdale-Conyers community is immensely proud of the fact that every one of our schools made Adequate Yearly Progress again and that the school system made AYP again is a real no brainer.

The accomplishments of Dr. King, his administration and teachers, along with the many involved parents we have here in our community, are being recognized state-wide.

This type of positive state and national recognition attracts new business and good quality people who will wish to locate and live in our community.

All of this is positive and will add to our tax base.

We certainly have been hard on our elected Board of Education members who recently raised the millage rate for the second year in a row. On the other side of the coin we think each one of them are good people who care about where our schools and students are heading and we praise them for that.

There is no question that the taxpayers of the county want the same thing. There is also no question that we are achieving that goal. But to continue this progress we need to do it within our means.
