Notice to parents of students with disabilities

Students or parents with students who withdrew or graduated from Rockdale County Public Schools July 1, 2005, through June 30, 2006, or any time prior to this time period up to 1995, please be advised that individual SPECIAL EDUCATION RECORDS will be destroyed after November 1, 2011. If you want or need a copy of these special education records please call 770-860-4231. The Rockdale County Board of Education is required to keep special education records as long as the reports and records are needed for educational purposes. When these records are no longer needed, the Board must inform the student and/or parent(s) of its plan to destroy such records.

 

This is to provide notice to all students or parents with disabilities who left Rockdale County Public Schools July 1, 2005, through June 30, 2006 or any time prior to this time period up to 1995, and no longer enrolled in the Rockdale County Public Schools that all special education records for those students will be destroyed after November 1, 2011 unless you request the records.
