The Olde Town Gallery and Studio's newest show is out to prove that “It’s Not Your Grandma’s Quilt Anymore.” The art of quilting is alive and thriving in Conyers and from Oct. 19 to Nov. 3 the exquisite works by local area quilters will be on display at the Gallery.
Melisa Morrison, proprietor of Sweet Home Quilt Company on Green Street in Conyers, is the show curator. “There will be quilts of all types and sizes, some very traditional and some much more modern."
Some of these vibrant and beautiful works will be available for sale.
In addition to special hours this Saturday, Oct. 20, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m., in conjunction with the Olde Town Festival, the Gallery will be demonstrating a quilting machine at 11 a.m. and again at 1 p.m.
The show will run for three weekends October 19, 20, 26, 27, and November 2 and 3. Besides Saturday, Oct. 20, the usual hours will be observed on Friday and Saturday afternoons, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Morrison invited the public to "come and see where the art of quilting can take you today."
