A Covington woman was arrested at Walmart Saturday after she allegedly tried to shoplift 131 Christmas decorations and 30 tree ornaments.

According to the arrest report, a loss-prevention employee observed Didi Rae Blalock, 41, place the items in shopping bags and a cart over a one and a half hour period at the Conyers Walmart Saturday.

Blalock then allegedly pushed her cart past all the registers and through the grocery exit, where she was stopped by the employee around 7 p.m.

When confronted, Blalock said she was only walking outside to see if her ride had arrived and she did not intend to shoplift.

According to the arrest report, there was a total of 204 items recovered, including two soft drinks and a book, totaling $380.

After being transported to the jail, Blalock was allegedly found to be in possession of over 100 pills including Oxycodone, Hydrocodone, Hydrochloride and Soma, none of which were in a prescription bottle bearing Blalock's name. Officers also reportedly found a marijuana joint in her purse.

Blalock was charged with misdemeanor Theft by Shoplifting-Misdemeanor, Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance, Possession of a Schedule III Controlled Substance, Possession of a Schedule IV Controlled Substance and Possession of Marijuana Less Than One Ounce.
