New RWR software rollout may cause delays to customers

Rockdale Water Resources customers may find some delays in posting payments to water bill accounts and changes in meter reading and billing dates due to difficulties in going live with new billing software, the county advised on Tuesday.

"RWR is in the process of going live with new software for its billing, customer accounts and financials, but is experiencing some start-up difficulties," according to a release. "RWR is issuing this notice to inform customers of the expected impact and requesting their understanding and patience as corrections to these new software issues are implemented."

The payment posting delays and changes in billing dates/meter reading may affect the next two billing cycles, which include December of 2009 and January of 2010. Payments received on time but posted late will not have a late fee, according to the release.

Phone service to RWR is still up and running but there may be delays with that as well due to higher call volume.

"We offer our sincere apology for any inconveniences experienced during this transition period," said RWR Director Dwight Wicks. "RWR's goal is to provide improved and more customer-friendly services upon the completion of the software start-up."
