With natural and manmade disasters looming in the horizons, the American Legion wants to help the community be prepared and aware of disaster relief resources with a National Disaster Security Preparedness Day on Saturday, Sept. 27, 10 a.m. - noon.

Special guest speakers from a number of agencies will give important tips and information. Agencies participating include the VFW, Rockdale County Sheriff's Office, Rockdale Fire and Rescue, National EMS, the Rockdale County Health Department, Red Cross, Georgia Emergency Management, Americorps and more.

Light refreshments will be served. Historical artifacts are also on display at Post 77, located at 674 Legion Road next to the Green Meadows Cemetery on Ga. Highway 138.
