What if coffee could change a community?

This is the question that Conyers locals Jason and Noelle Cosby along with a group of young adults began to ask themselves. Their answer? AWAKE coffee roasters.

AWAKE coffee roasters is a collective of young people with a heart for the community and the revitalization of the Olde Town area. Their idea is to create a gathering place where gourmet coffees will be roasted, sold, brewed and served, enhancing our local community economy and providing a place for people to come together.

And where will this coffee roaster collective be located? This same question was asked of Noelle Cosby many times at the Taste of Conyers. She said, "Well, right now it's in this tent, but our heart is that it would be right here in Olde Town."

Eventually, the AWAKE team hopes to coordinate art and music festivals, local outreach projects and other events in Olde Town, making it an exciting destination in the metro-Atlanta area.

The end goals include a for-profit coffee roaster that wholesales and retails coffees here and abroad, and non-profits that coordinate, participate in and fund many projects to help communities recover from economic hardships and restore vitality to historical areas.

AWAKE coffee roasters is currently in a fundraising campaign to raise start up revenue with a goal of $21,500. You can read about the campaign and vision and contribute at IndieGoGo fundraising website at igg.me/at/AWAKEroasters.
