Rockdale Magnet School for Science and Technology students Crystal Brockington and Aaron Davis went to Capitol Hill last November as part of a diversity symposium. The focus was minorities and women in education fields dealing with STEM, or science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Symposium discussion included the accomplishments of women and minorities in STEM fields and the importance of promoting an interest in the STEM fields among students. During the symposium, Brockington and Davis led a presentation on safer and more economical alternatives to using cadmium, a carcinogenic substance.
Magnet students speak at national seminar
