Rockdale Magnet School for Science and Technology will hold two information sessions for parents and eighth grade students interested in learning about enrollment for the 2014-2015 school year.

The sessions are Nov. 18 and Nov. 19 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on both days at the Magnet School, located at 930 Rowland Road.

The Nov. 18 session is designated for Conyers Middle School and Memorial Middle School students.

The Nov. 19 session is designated for Davis Middle School and Edwards Middle School students.

Students who are homeschooled and students who go to private school are invited to attend either session.

The sessions are open to parents and current eighth grade students who meet the eligibility requirements. For information on the eligibility requirements go to www.rockdalemagnetschool.com and click on the "Parents" link.

Those attending the sessions will tour the classrooms and learn more about the application process, and the school's curriculum. 

The application will be available online starting Nov. 20. The application deadline is Dec. 18, 5 p.m., and a non-refundable $15 application/testing fee must be paid with cash or check by the application deadline. 

The test for applicants is Saturday, Jan. 11, 8:30 a.m. - 10:45 a.m. at the Magnet School. Applicants are asked to bring two sharpened #2 pencils. 

Decision letters will be mailed to all applicants by Feb. 28, and parents and students who have been accepted must meet March 13, 6:30 p.m.- 8:30 p.m. at the school.
