Rockdale Magnet School for Science and Technology will hold an information session on Nov. 29 and Dec. 1 for eligible and interested eighth students and parents.

The information session for Conyers Middle and Memorial Middle School students and parents will be Tuesday, Nov. 29, 6:30 p.m. – 8 p.m..

The information session for Davis Middle and Edwards Middle School students and parents will be Wednesday, Dec. 1, 6:30 p.m. – 8 p.m.

Both sessions are at the Rockdale Magnet School for Science and Technology, 930 Rowland Road, Conyers.

Private and Home School students may attend either session.

The visit will take students and parents on a tour of the new facility with Research Labs built specifically for the advanced levels of scientific research conducted by students in 9th through 12th grades. Interactive demonstrations will give them an exciting view of how Research, Chemistry, Biology, and Environmental Science are presented at RMSST.  Demonstrations and presentations by the RMSST Math Team, Science Olympiad Team, and Engineering and Robotics Team will give them a preview of academic extracurricular activities available to them along with all of the fine arts and athletic extracurricular activities through Rockdale County High School.

Instructions for submitting an online application will be provided at these sessions.

Applications will be available for completion online on Dec. 2.

Application deadline is 11:59pm, Dec.11. A non-refundable $15 application/testing fee must be postmarked by December 11 or paid online using PayPal by 11:59pm, Dec. 11.

All applicants must also take a placement test on Saturday, Jan. 7, 8 a.m., unless extenuating circumstances prevent it and arrangements have been made with the RMSST Director.  The test is at Rockdale Magnet School for Science and Technology, 930 Rowland Road, and will last from 8 a.m. - 10 a.m. Students are asked to bring two sharpened #2 pencils
