Lookout alert issued for missing woman with history of mental illness

A woman with a history of mental illness has gone missing and Rockdale County Sheriff's Office deputies are asking for the public's help in finding her.

On Monday, July 15, Katherine Ferris walked away from her personal care home located on Briar Hill Lane near Salem Road in Conyers. She is under state care for mental illness and has a history of being assaultive when not on her medication. Caution is advised if contact is made with Ferris.

Ferris is described as a 61 year old white female, 5'5" and 200 pounds, with long brown hair and blue eyes.

She was last seen wearing a pink shirt, blue jeans, and white Reebok shoes. Ferris is known to frequent fast food restaurants.
