The Seven Gables Restaurant is hosting its fourth annual wine tasting and community outreach event on March 18, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., to raise funds for the Rockdale Magnet School.

Tickets are $30 per person in advance and $40 at the door. The event features international wine tasting, light hors d’oeuvres, live jazz music, and a silent auction.

Seven Gables owner Alain Bouzoubaa said he was originally inspired to hold the event after seeing the hard work and dedication of the teachers and directors of the Rockdale Magnet School, which his daughters attended.

He said he was a proponent of helping gifted and talented children. "They are self motivated, but they need encouragement," he said.

Last year, the event raised $4,300 and has raised more each year than the previous year. All proceeds go to the school. Other contributors and sponsors include Sigman Bottle Shop and various local merchants as well as the music provided by Dan Turner and his band.
