Light House Village, Inc. will unveil a commissioned sculpture of a light house on Friday, Nov. 13 in a special ceremony beginning 5:30 p.m.
The program will include a time of prayer, special music and unveiling of the marble sculpture, created by artist Andy Davis, known for his life-sized sculptures of Truett Cathy, James "Radio" Kennedy, and Ray Charles. The celebration will be at the Light House Village campus, located at 541 Sigman Road.
Light House Village Project Director Jeff Beech said, "The sculpture will invite people to follow the real source of the light as they are lifted up and empowered."
Light House Village brings together three nonprofit organizations on one campus: Haven House, Phoenix Pass and Dream House.
Haven House Respite Home, operated by Rockdale Cares, Inc., is presently serving as a respite care home for mentally and physically challenged clients, giving a respite to their caregivers.
Phoenix Pass, a partnership between Rockdale Emergency Relief and First Baptist Church of Conyers, is currently constructing its first phase - an eight unit, single family apartment unit and community center as part of temporary and holistic transitional housing program.
Future plans include Dream House for Medically Fragile Children, Inc. which would provide a comprehensive, hospital-to-home program for medically fragile foster children.
