The Nancy Guinn Memorial Library is celebrating National Library Week, April 8-14, with a night of music and a new website.

“We have a new website that we’re very proud of.  It offers much more information in a more accessible, attractive way than our former website,” said Alisha Blevins, head of Computer Services, and Webmaster.

“One example is that instructions are available on the website to guide new users on accessing the new eBook collection.  Classes are also being offered here to show people how to get started with this new technology,” said Blevins.

In addition to class offerings, the website is full of information about the many services the library has to offer, such as job seeking resources, genealogical resources and materials in print and electronic formats.  Please visit the new website at http://www.conyersrockdalelibrary.org

To celebrate National Library Week, a night of musical entertainment is set for Thursday, April 12, in a program called “Music Americana” starring master impressionist Dave Ehlert.

In the show, Ehlert will pay tribute to several musical artists of America’s recent past by impersonating greats such as Elvis, Nat King Cole, Roy Orbinson, Rod Stewart, Johnny Cash, Dean Martin and others. The free show is from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m in the meeting room on the lower level, and is sponsored by the Friends of the Library. The public is invited to this fun evening of music and comedy.

First sponsored in 1958, National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries across the country each April.
