Lewis and Clark won't be hanging around Conyers and Covington this fall. Instead, keep a look out for cast and crew, including Casey Affleck and Matthias Schoenaerts, next spring. Producers shut down the filming of the six-hour HBO mini-series, which had begun shooting in Alberta, Canada, this summer. The cable network said it was searching for a new director and a director of photography. Weather factors may have also contributed to the postponement.
Sets for the miniseries will include a recreation of St. Louis, circa 1803, at the Georgia International Horse Park in Conyers. The television docudrama is based on the book, Undaunted Courage, by Stephen Ambrose, and Tom Hanks, Brad Pitt and National Geographic are co-producers.
