As a small business owner and property owner in Rockdale County I am honored to write a recommendation for Ms. Doreen Williams, Candidate for Rockdale County Board of Commissioners, Post 2. Since moving to Rockdale County eight years ago, I have had the pleasure of working with Ms. Williams on several projects and have held numerous discussions with her on a variety of topics that impact the community.  Throughout I have been impressed with her logical approach to solving sensitive issues as well as her ability to build consensus within groups of people who have strong and divergent interests. That she is a retired educator and a servant leader is another plus for Rockdale County citizens.  

Unfortunately, politics in our county often can be a contest of powerful interests, partisan attacks, sound bites, and media hype. In order to move forward, the County now calls for a different kind of political engagement: one shaped by the convictions of well-formed consciences and focused on the dignity of every human being, the pursuit of the common good, and the protection of the weak and the vulnerable. To this end, I trust Doreen Williams to act in the best interests of all Rockdale County citizens.

Having travelled the length and breadth of our small County, Ms. Williams is well versed on the issues that matter most to the people who live here. It is my belief that Doreen will use this information to the benefit of all Rockdale County citizens and contribute to civil and respectful public dialogue.
