Letter: A Sad Day
Placeholder Image

Dear Editor: I think it is a sad day when less than 12 percent of Rockdale County’s registered voters actually go to the polls and vote. E-SPLOST won by around 800 votes; not an overwhelming mandate. I would like to see the superintendent and the school board members reach out to ordinary county taxpayers and make their decision processes more inclusive. It is past time to get the board meetings on the television and the Internet. It is time to look at other revenue sources other than raising the millage rate. It is time to permit ordinary taxpayers to be involved in how and on what projects are funded by this E-SPLOST. If you agree that we are all in this together, then it is time to do a better job at involving ordinary county taxpayers in RCPS.
