The John Deere facility in Conyers is leaving for a new regional distribution center in McDonough by 2010, according to a company memo.
The new facility would handle about double the volume of the Conyers facility, which currently serves as an emergency depot, and serve more than 600 John Deere locations in the southeast.
John Deere facility came to Conyers about three decades ago and had hundreds of employees in times past but is reportedly down to less than 100.
The McDonough location is slated to be up and running by March 2010.
