Mrs. Jacqueline Lee Vinson Westmoreland, age 58 of Covington, passed away Monday, January 9, 2012 at her home after a 2 1/2 year battle with breast cancer. She was a devoted wife and Mom and loved her grandchildren more than words can say. Born to Horace and Bonnie Vinson in Detroit, Michigan in 1953, she spent a great deal of her life in Rome, Georgia before finally landing in Covington. She is survived by her husband of 24 years, Ron Westmoreland of Covington; son, Sam Cox of Covington; daughter and son-in-law, Monnesia and Brad Womack of Conyers; grandchildren, Savannah Cox and Collin Womack; sister, Shirley Vinson of Rome; brother and sister-in-law, Sam and Frissy Vinson of Kingston; brother, James Cobb of Kinston; several cousins, nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Jackie will be held Friday, January 13, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Scot Ward's Green Meadow Chapel with Pastor Richard Statham officiating; interment at Green Meadow Memorial Gardens with a reception to follow at the Womack's home. The family will receive friends Thursday, January 12, 2012 from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Fund.
