IN BRIEF: The Board of Commissioners will look at whether to appoint Rockdale County Fire and Rescue's Interim Fire Chief Dan Morgan as the official chief of the division during their meeting next week on Oct. 9. Morgan was appointed interim fire chief after the former fire chief, Franklin Wilson, resigned in June to take up a teaching position at the Rockdale Career Academy. Before Wilson, former Fire Chief Cedric Scott, who came on board in 2009, resigned in 2011 for an assistant fire chief position in Savannah. Morgan previously served as interim deputy chief after Scott left and has about 10 years of experience with the department.
