Hometown Holidays to brighten Olde Town

Plenty of events are coming up for the holidays. Here are a few:

Unto the Least of These

Glenn’s Bar-B-Que will be serving a free Thanksgiving Dinner on Nov. 24, at 11 a.m. at 1377 Old McDonough Highway, Conyers. Reservations needed. 678-964-2475

 

Olde Town Christmas

The Olde Town Christmas Party takes place Dec. 2 from 5-8 p.m. in Olde Town Conyers with free train rides, refreshments, children’s crafts by Home Depot and special sales. There’s also a Secret Santa Shop in the Welcome Center/Depot for children to buy presents for parents. 770-602-2606

 

Hometown Holidays Parade

The annual Hometown Holidays parade will start Dec. 3, at 4:30 p.m. featuring more than 70 floats and groups. Participants are asked to carpool and can park at CJ Hicks, RCHS, and Bonner Park, since Roland Road will be closed at Main St. due to construction. The route goes from RCHS on Pine Log Road and ends at the Rockdale County Courthouse on Milstead Avenue. The annual community tree lighting and performances are at the Courthouse at 6 p.m. 770-602-2606
