Heritage girls give up first goal

The Heritage girls soccer team finished a match for the first time this season without a win.

The Lady Patriots tied Oconee County 1-1 on Tuesday to move to move to 4-0-1 on the young season. Not only is it the first non win for Heritage, but the Lady Patriots' sophomore goalkeeper Maddie Carter gave up her first goal of the season.

On the boys' side, after winning its first match of the season, Heritage fell to Whitewater 3-2 on Tuesday.
The Patriots had beaten Rockdale 3-1 on Friday before traveling out of the county to Whitewater.

After losing its first game of the season, the Salem
girls' soccer team continues to win, picking up a 2-1 victory over Cedar Shoals on Tuesday. The Lady Seminoles have defeated Newton 8-1 and Griffin 5-0 after falling to Eagles Landing 3-0 on Feb. 14.

The boys are in the same situation after beating Cedar Shoals 1-0 on Tuesday. Salem lost to Eagles Landing 2-0 on Feb. 14 and then beat Newton County 2-1 and Griffin 2-1.

Rockdale, coming off the loss to the Patriots, still hasn't found its way into the win column, falling to Madison County 7-0 on Tuesday.

The Lady Bulldogs also remained winless in their match to Madison County, falling 6-0. Rockdale also hasn't scored a goal yet this season, falling 8-0 to Heritage, 8-0 to Walnut Grove and 4-0 to Shiloh.
