It was Hat Day at Hightower Trail Elementary on Friday, March 27, as students donated $1 towards Relay for Life in order to wear their favorite hat. HTE has raised more than $1,500 towards this year's Relay for Life so far.

The 2015 Rockdale County Relay for Life will be held April 17, 6 p.m. - midnight, at 1400 Parker Road.

So far, 31 teams and 164 participants have raised $22,871. Top three participants as of Friday are Ray Allen, Charles Mason and Michelle Darr; Top three teams are the Pine Street Road Runners, Trinity Baptist, and JH House Elementary.

Upcoming fundraisers include Dairy Queen Spirit Night April 7, 5-8 p.m. and Mini Bank Night at Trinity Baptist, 301 Honey Creek Rd on March 31. Cancer survivors celebrate with a luncheon today, March 28, 11:30 a.m., at Rockdale Medical Center.
