The Hands Across Rockdale day of service scheduled for Saturday, April 19, will take place rain or shine, according to organizers.

All volunteers are requested to report to their project site at 8 a.m. even in the event of rain.

On-site project managers will determine what pieces of the project can be completed and work with the volunteers on alternate plan to complete what cannot be done in inclement weather.

About 450 volunteers are signed up to work across 29 project sites for the 2014 event.

Hands Across Rockdale, a Leadership Rockdale initiative, is in its third year of holding the annual, county-wide service event.
