Marching to its own beat: Heritage High School’s marching band was named Grand Champion for receiving the highest overall score for the day over all 13 schools, not just its class, at the Super Bowl of Sound at Central Carroll High School in Carrolton on Oct. 1. It also received the highest visual score for the day, highest effect score for the day, best brass line award, highest color guard score for the day and first place in Class 4A, first place in Class 4A for Drum Majors, and second place in Class 4A for percussion.
