The Business Connections group recently donated $1,000 each to two Rockdale nonprofits - Rockdale Emergency Relief, which runs a food bank and provides emergency utilities and housing assistance to families in financial crisis, and Project ReNeWal, which provides domestic violence prevention training and aids families facing domestic violence for Rockdale, Newton and Walton counties. Dotti Bala said, "I think the board had decided these were the most worthy in the two groups that needed the donations pretty badly this year, because of the economic situation we're all in." The group meets each Tuesday morning at 8 a.m. at Jim ‘n Nick's.
