Enjoy the dog days of summer this weekend at the 7^th Annual Big Haynes Creek Wildlife Festival, at the Georgia International House Park. It’s cheap, there’s free parking, and you can hold an owl. For someone like me, whose deepest wish is to own an owl, Harry Potter style, this is a big deal. You can also hold other birds, but they pale in comparison (for me, at least) to the owl. You can also hold fun snakes and all sorts of other animals, check out Indian encampments, plus there will be fun demonstrations, like archery. I once took archery in middle school as a PE alternative. Something tells me these little kids would be trusted much more than I with a bow. I’m just saying… But take your kids and try it out – have some fun out in the sun while it’s here and not covered in rain clouds.
