IN BRIEF: Rockdale County announced its top two candidates for Human Resources director and fire chief Monday.

For fire chief, the finalists are:

Frank Wilson

- Currently Deputy Fire Chief in Jerome, Idaho
- Over 25 Years of Related Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree from Western Oregon University
- Numerous Related Certifications
- United States Navy Veteran

Rick Clemons

- Recently Retired as Captain of Airport Training with Atlanta Fire and Rescue
- 30 Years Related Experience- Master’s Degree from Columbus State University
- Numerous Related Certifications          

The finalists for human resources director are:

Darryl Bowie           

- Currently Executive Team Leader, Target Stores, Inc.           
- Over 20 Years Related Experience
– With 15 Years in the Public Sector           
- Master’s Degree from The University of Alabama, Birmingham           
- Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) Certification

Malea Turner                           

- Currently Area Human Resources Manager for Lowe’s Home Improvement                
- Over 10 Years Related Experience                 
- Master’s Degree from Georgia State University                   
- Professional in Human Resources (PHR) Certification.

The Board of Commissioners will meet 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 12, for a voting session and on July 18, 10 a.m. for a work session at 901 Main Street.

The BOC is expected to take action on these appointments at their regular next voting session Tuesday, July 26, at 10 a.m. at 901 Main Street.
