The county announced the search for a Director of Recreation and Maintenance has been narrowed to three candidates.
Jackie Lunsford has been the deputy director of Recreation and Maintenance department in Rockdale since 2009. Prior to that she was director of Senior Services in the county and director of the Olivia Haydel Senior Services Center.
Corliss Randall Davenport is a program manager and youth development specialist with the City of Atlanta's Office of Recreation. Previously, she had worked as the chief of staff for District 11 Atlanta City Councilmember Keisha Lance Bottoms and as a teacher and principal, most recently at Dunbar Elementary in Atlanta. Davenport was one of the 13 principals who resigned and one of the 179 employees named named the state's report investigating cheating in the Atlanta Public School system, according to a 2011 article by the Atlanta Journal Constitution.
Marilyn Boyd Drew, a flight attendant with Pinnacle Airlines, was past director for DeKalb County Parks and Recreation from 2002 - 2009 and deputy director for DeKalb from 2001-2002. In 2010, she, along with several DeKalb County administrators including then-CEO Vernon Jones, was convicted of discrimination against two white county employees in Parks and Recreation, according to a 2010 article in the Champion Newspaper.

The position was vacated when Recreation and Maintenance Director David Smith retired at the end of 2012.
The Rockdale County Board of Commissioners is expected to take action on this appointment at their regular voting session scheduled Tuesday, April 23, at 10 a.m.
