Dads, time to take your daughters out for a night of fun, glamour and mystery. The 2011 Father-Daughter Ball, organized by the Rockdale Rotary Club, is coming up on Feb. 12, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Rockdale Career Academy.
This year's ball, the fifth annual event, will be a Masquerade Ball and is a special night just for father and daughters of all ages.
Entertainment and music will be provided by a DJ, Bryan Bowman, and amenities such as a make-up station for little girls to "freshen up" will be provided.
"We feel like we have the best venue in town," said organizer Gary Bridgewater. "We're going to give them a five star meal cooked by the culinary students of the RCA. Great entertainment, great dinner, just a first class event."
Bridgewater said he hopes this year's event will be the biggest ever. Last year's attendance was a 30 percent increase over the previous year.
Tickets are $45 per father, $35 for the first daughter and $25 for each additional daughter. The ticket includes dinner, live entertainment, and a T-shirt with the daughter's name, if the tickets are ordered by the deadline of Jan. 25.
The proceeds will benefit the Empty Stocking Fund, a shopping event for at-need children during Christmas, and for other Rotary programs.
