A 19-year-old Newton County man sustained fatal injuries in a single-vehicle accident at the intersection of Gum Creek Road and Ellis Road Tuesday afternoon. 

According to Newton County Coroner Tommy Davis, Dantevius Smith passed away shortly after the accident, while his two friends who were also riding in the vehicle were transported to Atlanta-area hospitals.
