Keep it local this weekend and fairly cheap at the Family Fun and Food Fest. Hosted by Georgia Piedmont Technical, the festival starts at 11 a.m. and doesn't end until 4 p.m., and there's so much free junk offered you might just lose your mind. Free music, face painting, storytelling, sno-cones (what?!), balloon animals, inflatables - the list goes on and on. They also have free on-site demos for cool stuff like K9 officers and internet safety, and free things like child ID kits and cholesterol checks - which you might need after all the yummy food you'll have. They have pizza for $1 a slice and a BBQ plate for $8. There's no excuse for local folks to not head out there and have an awesome weekend close to home. So quit making excuses that you're too busy and go enjoy some fresh air and some fresh BBQ while your kids wear themselves out on inflatables.
