The family of a young heroine in Madison is getting a new house, courtesy of the television show "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition," and you can help fundraise just by going to a concert.

Nine-year-old Anaiah Rucker saved her 5-year-old sister's life when she pushed her out of the way of an oncoming truck, taking the brunt of the impact and losing her leg in the process.

The show surprised Anaiah and her family last week with a visit. Since then, people from across the state and community have rallied together to volunteer and offer their support to the build, which is currently going on around the clock until this weekend.

Atlanta-based Southern rock giants Drivin’ N’ Cryin’ announced they will headline a benefit concert for the trust established for the recipients of “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” in Madison, Ga. The band will hit the stage (with possible special guests from the television show) on Friday, July 15 at 7 p.m. to raise funds for the Anaiah Rucker Building Fund and Special Needs Trust. The concert will be at Town Park in Madison, 218 W. Jefferson St., Madison, GA, 30650.

Drivin’ N’ Cryin is best known for hits such as “Honeysuckle Blue” and “Straight to Hell” as well as gold record “Fly Me Courageous.”  All tickets will be $10 and sold at the door – cash only. There will not be any tickets available for pre-sale.

The build is also still in need of skilled volunteers and monetary donations. The public can also attend the unveiling of the house, roughly scheduled for July 16.
