Underground Atlanta used to be where you went to get shot or shanked during fireworks on New Year’s, but they’ve had a bit of a facelift in the last few years, and it seems like it might be the place to visit for a little history and a chance at delicious warm nuts that you can get from the street venders. They actually have guided tours now. To be fair, they may have had them previously, but I wasn’t trying to get shanked. Now you can take a 50-minute tour and learn about the history of Atlanta from the beginning to modern day influences, learn how Underground got its name and about Atlanta’s moniker “Capital of the South.” Reservations are required, and make sure you stop at the nut cart!
