With Easter right around the corner, this weekend is hopping with events and activities for families.

On Saturday, United Way and Conyers First United Methodist Church are co-hosting the Annual Pancakes with the Easter Bunny, March 31 from 8:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.

The event is a fundraiser for the United Way's efforts to reduce homelessness, especially with families and women and children. The cost is $5 per person or $25 for a family of five or more.

Following the breakfast, CFUMC is hosting their Annual Egg Hunt, free and open to the community (though children must be accompanied by their parents or an adult), from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. There will be many egg "heats" for different ages of children - the lastest egg count, as of Wednesday evening was 6,000+ with an ultimate goal of 15,000. CFUMC Children's Minister Stanley Davidson said there will also be raffles, music, games, jumpies and Chik-Fil-A will be there selling lunch.

On Wednesday, April 4, Johnson Park is hosting a number of "egg"ceptional activities, including games, dying eggs, and Easter arts and crafts. The activities are 6:30 p.m. - 8 p.m., at 1791 Ebenezer Road. Cost is $5.

On Saturday, April 7, the park will hold an Underwater Egg Hunt in the swimming pool for children ages 2 to 10 years old. The egg hunt for children ages 2-4 is at 4:30 p.m. and for children ages 5-10 is at 5:15 p.m. The cost is $2 per child. For more information, call Johnson Park at 770-278-7529.

Other Easter egg hunts being hosted by area churches and organziations on April 7 include: Smryna Presbyterian, 10 a.m. - noon, American Legion, noon, Allen Memorial UMC at 2 p.m.

Many area churches are holding a whole week of events for Passion Week leading up to Good Friday and Easter Sunday.
