When looked up in the dictionary, "ecumenical" is defined as promoting or fostering Christian unity throughout the world. On Tuesday, Nov 25, St. Simon's Episcopal Church, Trinity Baptist Church, Conyers First UMC, Epiphany Lutheran Church, St. Pius X Catholic Church, Grace Community Church and New Covenant Fellowship will come together at Epiphany Lutheran Church on this special night to partake in a service assumed as this ideal.
Everyone is welcome to attend and share in this night of fellowship.
Pastor David Armstrong-Renier will be preaching that night. The combined congregations will be taking up a love offering that will benefit Family Promise, a partnership of congregations helping families facing homelessness.
Family Promise hosts a day center which provides the simple amenities that many take for granted such as showers and washers and driers. There is also a transportation system and a community agency that helps these families train for local job opportunities. Last year, the love offering collected by these churches provided $600 to this worthy cause.
The service will take place at Epiphany Lutheran Church starting at 7 p.m. but if you'd like to sing in the choir, province begins at 6:15 in the sanctuary. After the service, there will be light refreshments in the fellowship hall.
Epiphany Lutheran is located at 2375 Georgia Hwy 20 SE, Conyers GA 30013.
