IN BRIEF:  Downed power lines sparked off three brush fires today, one covering about an acre of forrest on Ga. Highway 212 near Owens Road, requiring assistance from the Georgia Forestry department. According to Rockdale Fire and Rescue spokesperson Sharon Webb, around 10:30 a.m. a power line in front of 2700 Ga. Highway 212 popped and hit the ground, starting a brush fire that spread through the front acre of the private residence. The house was set back on a long driveway and not damaged. Georgia Forestry Department was called in to help dig trenches to stop the spread of the fire.
