Two Davis Middle School students were recently recognized for their artistic achievements in the Istanbul Center's Art and Essay Contest. Davis Middle School eighth grader Laurel Holmes (left) won second place and along with it won a trip to Turkey. She is the third student from Kathleen King's class who has won a trip to Turkey due to her artistic talents. Laurel also received a $200 check. The trip will be June 18-June 28th. Seventh grader Taylor Huff placed 8th in the contest and she won a check for her achievements.
