Mrs. Dixie Lee Weimer of Conyers went to be with Jesus in heaven on Friday, January 20, 2012 at the age of 76. She was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to the late Frank Currie and Bessie Trimble on April 18, 1935. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Douglas Marion Currie, Jr. Dixie is survived by her husband, Kenneth A. Weimer; her son, Stephen Paul Weimer (who legally changed his name to Pablo Rodriguez on May 3, 1994); her daughter, Mary Zarna; and her grandchildren Tommy Zarna, Ashton Zarna and Savannah Zarna. Dixie met her husband of over fifty-six years at First Baptist Church in Gulfport, Mississippi in 1954 where she attended Gulf Park College and Kenneth was stationed at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Mississippi. They were married a year later on September 17, 1955 in Indianapolis, Indiana, Dixie's hometown. Dixie loved her church, Rockdale Church of Christ, and her testimony for Jesus touched many lives. In her last days, Dixie looked forward to being in heaven with Jesus. Funeral services for Dixie will be held Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Scot Ward's Green Meadow Chapel with Joseph Casimier officiating; interment will follow at Hillandale Memorial Park.
