Deputies nab suspect after manhunt

A Rockdale County man is in the custody of the Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office after a short lived attempt to escape custody.  

Bradley Hudgins, 41, fled from the sheriff’s deputies out the back door of his home down the 3000 block of Union Church Road Friday afternoon. Deputies were attempting to serve Hudgins with arrest warrants for simple battery and cruelty to children in the thrid degree.

After losing sight of the suspect, ten deputies set up a perimeter and containment zone in an attempt to catch Hudgins, who was eventually located nearby in a thick brush of leaves.

He was arrested and booked in the Rockdale County Jail on charges of obstruction, simple battery, and cruelty to children in the third degree. 

The whole incident lasted approximately 30 minutes.
