A crash with a Rockdale County school bus and a Mazda at the intersection of Ga. Highway 138 and Ebenezer Road sent four people to the hospital, including one to Atlanta Medical Center.

The crash occurred around 8:36 a.m. Friday morning, when a school bus was at the left turn lane of Ga. Highway 138 heading westbound and attempting to turn onto Ebenezer Road, according to a Georgia State Patrol spokesperson.

A 2002 Mazda 626 with a 51-year-old driver and two teenage passengers was heading east on 138 when it approached the intersection with Ebenezer.

According to the Patrol spokesperson, "The bus driver stated he had the green arrow and began to turn left. The driver of the Mazda stated he had the green light."

The front bumper and hood of the Mazda struck the right front bumper and right tire of the bus.

The driver of the Mazda, Donald E. Schroeder of Conyers, was taken by ambulance to Atlanta Medical Center. Schroeder was reportedly in stable condition as of Monday and soon to be discharged.

A 13-year-old male student on the bus was taken to Rockdale Medical Center where he was treated and released Friday.

The two teenage passengers in the Mazda, a 15 year old male and 16 year old female, were taken by a private vehicle to their doctor for minor injuries.

The 78-year-old driver of the bus was George Nathan Hamm of Conyers.

No charges have been filed.
