Shiny chrome and scary costumes will take over the grounds of Rockdale Career Academy in a couple weeks when RCA's annual car show combines with its fall festival.
The free event is 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 26 at RCA, located at 1064 Culpepper Drive.
The "Cruising for Careers Car Show," is in its fourth year and organizers are encouraging locals and those from the surrounding metro-Atlanta area to join in on what was described as a family-friendly event.
Fall festival highlights include trunk or treat in the antique cars, a haunted ghoul bus, and a children's costume contest.
Children participating in the costume contest are required to meet at the RCA lobby between 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. for registration.
Those entering the car show must register before noon. Registration is $20 for cars, trucks, and motorcycles. The three contest categories are vehicles made before 1972, 1973 to 1990, and 1990 to present.
Judging will start shortly after registration closes. Awards will go out for People's Choice, Best in Show, Second in Show, and Third in Show.
Event goers can also expect music, face painting, hair painting, activities, games, prizes, and widescreen sports TV.
RCA's culinary program, along with Jim ‘N Nick's BBQ, will have food and drinks available for the public to buy.
