Conyers Police look for forgery suspect fleeing from bank

(Conyers, GA) - Conyers Police issued a "be on the lookout" alert for a forgery suspect who fled on foot around 2 p.m.

Police were called to the Community and Southern Bank at 895 Iris Drive, near the Parker Road Bridge, for a suspect attempting to cash a forged check.

The suspect who was inside the bank attempting to cash the check was taken into custody. However, there was another suspect in a vehicle outside the bank who drove away. Police spotted the vehicle and ordered the driver to stop. But the suspect got out of the vehicle near Randall Street and fled on foot.

A search perimeter was set up in the area. A K-9 with the Rockdale County Sheriff's Office, which was closest to the scene, tracked down an article of clothing believed to have been worn and taken off by the suspect.

The suspect is described as a tall male, who had been wearing a white shirt. If you have any information on the suspect or the incident, call 770-483-6600.
