A unique Malagasy funeral celebration that Conyers resident Erica Wherry was able to observe as a Peace Corps volunteer

Check out these stories in the Nov. 25 edition of The Rockdale News, on stands now. For list of where to find the paper, click here or here.

A Veteran's Story: If you've ever been in the offices of Rockdale Superior Court Judge Sidney Nation, you might have noticed a black and white picture of the judge as a young man in the Army with a Vietnamese man. Nation talks to columnist Pete Mecca about the story behind that picture and more memories from his tour in Vietnam. This kicks off an occasional series on the experiences of local veterans.

A Conyers Girl in Madagascar:  Showers from a bucket, stove-warmed hair irons and a steep language barriers are all part of the adventure for Heritage grad Erica Wherry, as she follows her dream of teaching English in Africa, with a few culture learning curves along the way.

Also check back later this week on for more on these stories.
