CJ Hicks kindergarten teacher Sabrina Jackson was caught by surprise first thing Monday morning as "Freddie Falcon" and representatives from the Atlanta Falcons swooped in to present Jackson with a $1000 check for the school.

Jackson had been nominated by parent Scherie Jeffries, whose daughter is in Jackson's class, for the Symetra Financial Heroes in the Classroom for outstanding performance. She was one of 16 teachers selected by the Falcons to receive the award. In addition to winning $1000 for the elementary school, Jackson received tickets to Sunday's game, a Falcons jersey, and other prizes.

A reading rally had been set up in the media center to act as a cover for the award presentation. "I had no idea that they were there to recognize me this morning," said Jackson. "I thought that my class was in the media center to represent kindergarten during a reading rally to help celebrate Advanced Reading achievements."

"I am more than overwhelmed to be given such recognition. I am so thankful that someone would take the time out to nominate me for such an honor. I am still speechless and so thankful for everyone that was involved."
