Churches give Thanksgiving feast for families in need, Nov. 22, 27

At least five local Thanksgiving feasts will be held for families, the elderly and individuals in need on and before Thanksgiving Day.

These include a free, sit down meal, for anyone who would like to attend.

On Saturday, Nov. 22, Nehemiah Empowerment Group Ministries is hosting a Thanksgiving Dinner Celebration at 1 p.m. at 1012 South Main St., Conyers. Volunteers will prepare a full Thanksgiving meal for the homeless and families in need, as well as giving free clothing. For more information, call 770-755-4319.

Loves and Hugs Christian Tabernacle, 1701 Klondike Rd., Conyers, is giving free Thanksgiving dinner for senior citizens on Saturday, Nov. 22, noon - 3 p.m. For more information, call 770-366-7908.

Living Way World Church is also feeding those in need this Saturday November 22 from noon -3 p.m. at 4051 Hwy 81s Covington Ga 30016. They will also be delivering to shut-ins. For delivery, call the church at (770) 728-0280 and leave a message with your name, address, and contact number.

Conyers First United Methodist Church is hosting its first ever "In His Name" Thanksgiving Feast on November 27, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the CFUMC Fellowship Hall, 921 N Main St NW, Conyers.

The community has come together and donated many food items and financial gifts for the event at CFUMC. Other churches and sponsors helping to make this event happen include Crossroads United Methodist Church, Crosspoint Church, The Presbyterian Church of the Resurrection, Way of the Cross Baptist Church, Beasley Drug Company, The Sketching Pad, and Copy Central.

Conyers First will be serving turkey, dressing, cranberry sauce, macaroni and cheese, green beans, sweet potatoes, bread, and many different desserts. Water and sweet tea will be served with the Thanksgiving meal.
