About 20 high school age youth group members from St. Pius X Catholic Church and Epiphany Lutheran spent a night out in the elements in the parking lot of St. Pius X on Nov. 22 in an event to both raise awareness of homelessness and funds for the newly started Family Promise of NewRock interfaith hospitality network. Students raised pledges ranging from $25 to $400 for staying out all night. The students built "cardboard cities" for shelter using tape, cardboard boxes, and other materials they could find being thrown away.
