Last-minute Christmas shoppers have the perfect chance to save some money in the final days before the holiday. Great American Opportunities will be holding their third annual clearance sale this week in Conyers.
GAO, a school fundraising company, will be offering customers an overstock and discontinued inventory of gift wraps, holiday gifts, kitchen supplies, bath and body products, stationery and miscellaneous toys — all at dramatically reduced prices. The sale began last Saturday, Dec. 11 and will end this Saturday, Dec. 18, with hours of operation from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., in their location at 1571 Ga. Highway 138
Headquartered in Nashville, Tenn., the company chose to hold its sale in Conyers because similar clearance sales were previously held in the city. To test the sale’s marketability, GAO staged a summer sale three years ago.
"That sale turned out to be a great success," said Warehouse Sales Manager Tom Raines. "And we’ve been back ever since."
Raines said teachers are the sale’s biggest customers, using the items for Secret Santa parties for their students. Others purchase items to be given as gifts for birthdays, anniversaries and other events throughout the year. Employees noted they had sold out of items every day since the sale began last Saturday.
"We have more quality items this year, but not in quantity," said Project Manager Chris Tate. "It’s all going pretty fast."
"Because of the economy, people just don’t have the money for big expensive gifts," said sales employee Octavis Whitehead. "This is a great opportunity for anybody and everybody who need to save some money."
GAO serves schools and churches with nearly 250 fundraising consultants and trainers in 48 states. They have helped raise over $1.75 billion for schools and non-profit organizations. For more information about GAO, visit http://www.gafundraising.com
